recipe for fruitcake
This is one of the easiest cakes to bake. Fruitcake is a festive cake that is both dense and rich, besides being colorful and fun. One of the Great things about this cake is that you can fill it with your favorite fruit, nuts and spices of your choice and eliminates those that you don't care for. It's can be filled with apricots or prunes or exotic fruits like figs and dates or filled with brightly colored fruits like candied cherries for the visual appeal. Some fruits can even have food coloring added to enhance or transform their color for added fun, another great thing about fruitcake is that you can choose from a variety of liquor like rum or sweet sherry to give it just the kick you're looking for, you can even substitute the alcohol with juice which makes it suitable for all ages, some prefer to saturate the fruitcake after baking with as much alcohol as it can possibly soak up making it almost impossible to consume more than tiny portions at a time. When treated in this manner it is often to referred to as rum cake, this type of cake is often wrapped in foil and placed in airtight container's for weeks before cutting, for the flavors to mature, it's often a favorite at Christmas time and at weddings.
